Import Monitoring Service

 Import Policy of Steam Coal appearing in Chapter 27 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule − I as given in Annex to DGFT Notification no 17 dated 5th September 2019 has been changed from ‘free’ to ‘free subject to compulsory registration’ under Coal Import Monitoring System (CIMS).
 Importer shall have to enter the Registration Number and expiry date of Registration in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of consignment.

SIMS requires importers to register their steel import-related information in an online database before shipping the products to India. This information includes the name of the importer, the country of origin of the steel, the quantity of steel being imported, and the port of entry.

 The importer can apply for registration not earlier than 60th day before the expected date of arrival of import consignment. The registration can be made on the same day of arrival of import also. The automatic Registration Number thus granted shall remain valid for a period of 75 days

The purpose of system is to have adequate information with regard to import of Aluminium and Copper so that an appropriate policy intervention could be devised well in time.

The Ministry of Electronic Information and Technology [ MEITY ] has mandated that all the importers of integrated circuits in India register under the chip import monitoring system (CHIMS). This applies to all stakeholders importing under the following categories. Electrical circuits. Integrated circuits. Processors.

Based on the demand of the domestic paper industry, the introduction of PIMS is intended to curb- Imports under the “Others” category Tariff Lines. Dumping of paper products in the domestic market by way of under-invoicing. Entry of prohibited goods by misdeclaration.
 Importer can apply for online registration not earlier than 75th day and not later than 5th day before the expected date of arrival of import consignment. The URN is granted just after the payment of fees. The URN thus granted shall remain valid for a period of 75 days.
